We are honored to feature a selection of hand-crafted wood items from Dr. Bill’s Woodshop. William “Dr. Bill” Anderson is a dedicated Van Go volunteer, donor, and supporter. Dr. Bill’s first introduction to Van Go was at Benchmark 2012. Since then, Dr. Bill has become our volunteer woodshop coordinator, using his impressive woodworking skills to coach our youth through crafting benches for each year’s Benchmark as well as other woodshop goods for Adornment and other carpentry needs. Dr. Bill has served as a mentor to many Van Go youth, and along with Van Go alum Chris Garrison constructed The Big Picture glass tile mural wall. A retired ER physician, Dr. Bill lends his medical expertise to Van Go often, offering advice and education on a variety of topics. He was instrumental in helping Van Go to craft our extensive COVID-19 health and safety protocol which has allowed Van Go to continue on-site programming through the summer and fall. Dr. Bill and his wife, Sue, are passionate about supporting Van Go youth and have donated care packages to program participants several times during the course of the pandemic. Van Go is proud to feature this collection of lovingly crafted items donated by a man who is so generous with his time, wisdom, experience, and heart.
