Hello, folx!
First of all, thank you for visiting the brand new & first ever Van Go online store! Building this site has been an excellent learning experience, and it will be part of my legacy here as an Americorps VISTA. Everything on this site has been photographed, edited, and designed by me. It has been my absolute pleasure to have worked on such an important project, especially in these uncertain times when shopping in-person can be risky.
We here at Van Go want to thank you for your patronage, donations, and support. I have seen the staff here work so hard to figure out how to keep our programs running during the course of this pandemic. Our artists in The Arts Train and JAMS (Jobs in the Arts Make Sense) have also adapted well: wearing masks and gloves, sanitizing their stations, social distancing, and creating art here in the studio and at their homes when necessary.
I want to emphasize the importance of this online store now and going forward. Ultimately, this whole project is for our artists. They create beautiful works, and it's up to us, the staff, to figure out how to make it accessible to you all. In the past, we've been able to open up our on-site gallery for shopping and fundraising dinners. Of course, that just isn't feasible right now. So, if the shoe fits, build a website.
Here you will find a plethora of items made by our artists. The items are categorized for easy access. This is my first website, and I am continuously working on it. New items will be made available as soon as I am able to inventory, photograph, and upload them. Hopefully, I will be able to do all of that within the week that the pieces are finished by the artists.
Please let us know if you have any questions about anything you see here. There is also a FAQ page under the "About Us" tab too. Thank you again for visiting our shop!
Take care,
Tay Stark
